KoKoDo JuJutsu Soke Yasuhiro Irie & Hakubukai Representative Hiroshi Miyasaka

Kokodo Jujutsu(皇光道柔術) is a koryu jujutsu organization founded by Soke Yasuhiro Irie(入江安博). Soke Irie studied under the first headmaster of Hakko-ryu Jujutsu, Ryuho Okuyama, in 1969, and after many years of training younger students at the headquarter dojo, he became independent in 1995. He has been practicing jujutsu for over 50 years.

The purpose of our school is to propagate authentic Japanese martial arts and to pass them on to future generations. The techniques are systematized from Shoden to Okuden based on scientific theory, and are unique in that even beginners can learn without difficulty through direct one-on-one instruction. KoKoDo has trained many masters and disciples, and its activities have spread to 30 chapters in Japan and abroad.

Hakubukai(博武会) is a branch dojo founded by Hiroshi Miyasaka(宮坂博), one of the best instructors of the Sohonbu Dojo, with the approval of Soke Irie. The character “Haku” was taken from one of the characters of the Soke’s name. This character means “to expand knowledge,” so the name “Hakubukai” was chosen in the sense of “to pass on the wisdom of traditional Japanese martial arts to the world at large and to future generations.

We will continue our activities to pass on the techniques and spirit of the Soke and to spread the splendor of Budo as a traditional Japanese culture.
